Brazil’s Globo inks volume deals
Brazilian distributor Globo TV International has inked a number of volume deals with international broadcasters following MIPCOM.
The company has closed deals with French digital terrestrial channel IDF1, Japan’s La Tele and Albania’s TV Klan.
It has sold series including novela Shades of Sin to IDF1. Director of international sales Raphael Correa Netto says he expects to boost its business in France as the digital terrestrial television network takes off.
Japanese broadcaster La Tele, a station focusing on the Hispanic community in Japan, has picked up 700 hours of Globo productions.
Meanwhile, TV Klan acquired Dos Caros (Two Faces), a controversial novela written by Aguinaldo Silva. This follows deals with rival Albanian stations DigitalB and Top for Seven Sins and Tropical Paradise respectively.
