Marathon launching Totally Spies spin-off at MIPCOM

Marathon will start shopping Amazing Spiez, a follow-up to its smash hit series Totally Spies, at MIPCOM Junior this October.

Marathon, the Italian-backed French producer/distributor, will be handling international sales for the series, which will air on Teletoon in Canada and TF1 in France.

The show itself focuses on a B-team of younger, emerging spies that are assembled by Jerry, the boss of the World Organization of Human Protection (WOOHP) and a character from the original Totally Spies series.

The team are four siblings and are duly equipped with the latest spy gadgets and gizmos.

"It’s a little bit more boy-skewed and younger," says Emmanuelle Bouilhaguet, managing director of international at Marathon. "It’s inspired by Totally Spies, but it will be quite different, it’s still 2D but it will have a totally different look."

Marathon will have a completed episode to show buyers at MIPCOM. The original Totally Spies runs to five series and 130 episodes.
