TV3 orders earthquake docudrama special from Gibson
Kiwi commercial broadcaster TV3 has ordered a docudrama about what would happen to New Zealand in the event of a massive earthquake. The one-off 2hr docudrama, Aftershock, will be followed by a straight 1x60mins factual show about what to do in the event of a quake.
"This is a huge splash for us, it’s about what would happen if an earthquake hit New Zealand," explains Jeanie Davison, producer at the Gibson Group. "There’s also a follow-up factual programme about how to survive and what you can do if it does happen."
The docudrama is written by Graham Tetley (Out of the Blue) and will follow several groups of people as the quake hits. The show is about to go into production and will TX on TV3 in October.
