Comedy Central launching in Hungary this October

MTV is launching a localised version of its Comedy Central channel in Hungary. The channel will launch in October 2008 and be carried on local cable and satellite pay TV platforms.

MTV Networks International has already launched local versions of its core MTV channel as well as music channel Viva and kids offering Nickelodeon.

The launch schedule of Comedy Central Hungary will feature a mix of local, international and acquired programming. There will be The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, South Park and The Colbert Report and acquired shows The Simpsons, Family Guy and My Name Is Earl. All shows will be dubbed into Hungarian.

MTV said it will launch a localised website, www.comedycental.hu, to support the launch.
