Ratings watch: Lewis

The second series of ITV Productions’ UK detective series Lewis has got off to a decent start in the Netherlands, wining its timeslot on public broadcast channel Ned 1.

The series, a spin-off from successful detective drama Inspector Morse, bowed on March 19, in a 9.30pm slot. It won a 15.2% share in the 6+ demographic, placing it first in its timeslot.

In February of this year, Ned 1 averaged a 20.7% share in the 6+.

In the UK Lewis airs on free-to-air commercial channel ITV 1. On Sunday February 24, starting at 9pm, the first episode of the second season of the series won an impressive 35.4% audience share in the 4+ demographic. Across its run, which ended March 9, the series averaged a 34.5% share.

In 2007 ITV 1’s average family viewing share was 23.2% in 2007.
