Zig Zag to produce soccer hooligan drama for G4

UK indie Zig Zag Productions is producing a drama pilot for US cable network G4’s recently launched international programming block.

The production company, which is known more for its factual fare, is expanding into drama following the commission of a fictional series based around soccer hooliganism.

Zig Zag has made a number of hooligan related factual entertainment series such as Bravo’s 6x60mins The Real Football Factories, starring Danny Dyer, as well as many soccer shows such as Sky One’s The Football Years and From Turnip to Swede: England’s Football Managers for Five.

G4, which is owned by the Comcast International Media Group, is a male skewing entertainment network, formerly focused on computer games. It recently launched a nightly international programming block  – titled Duty Free – with Japanese gameshows such as Ninja Warrior, Unbeatable Banzuke and Super Big Product Fun Show.
