Gaumont moves for Alphanim

French film company Gaumont is in exclusive talks to acquire kids producer/distributor Alphanim. Gaumont has confirmed that talks are taking place although it did not specify how long they were expected to last.

Alphanim confirmed to TBIvision it had been approached by Gaumont in the last few weeks.

Created in 1997, Alphanim produces animated kids series including 52x26mins Galactik Football, 104x13mins Robotboy and 52x13mins Hairy Scary. The company is based in Paris with an office in London.

Gaumont, the French mini-major, is on the acquisition trail and was strongly linked to French media company Marathon earlier this year, before it was finally acquired by Italy’s De Agostini in July.
