Ratings watch: Got Talent gets viewers
The second season of talent format Got Talent has got off to a good start on M6 in France.
The Fremantle-distributed format sets out to find the best undiscovered talent in the country and features a variety of people with a range of talents attempting to impress a panel of judges, a studio audience and viewers at home.
Known locally as Incroyables Talents the first episode aired on November 6 in primetime. The show delivered a 16.3% audience share in the 4+ demographic and a 22.2% audience share in housewives under 50. (source: M6, Mediamat-Médiamétrie). In 2006, M6 averaged a 12.5% share in the 4+.
In Germany the local version of the format is called Supertalent. The first episode aired on Saturday, October 20, from 8.15pm to 9.30pm. It won a 14.6% audience share in the 3+ demographic, ranking it third in its timeslot and a 23.4% share in the 14-to-49-year-old category, ranking it first in that timeslot.
On October 27, the second episode drew a 18.1% audience share in the 3+ and a 28.1% share in the 14-49. The finale of the first series averaged a 16.9% share in the 3+ and 24.3% on Saturday, November 3 (source: RTL, AGF, GfK FernsehForschung, SevenOne Media). In 2006, RTL averaged a 12.8% share in the 3+ and a 15.6% share in the 14-to-49 category.
In the USA, on NBC, from June 5, 2007 to August 21, 2007, the second series of America’s Got Talent averaged a 12.2% share in households and a 10.9% share in the 18-to-49-year-old category. On August 21, 2007, the finale drew a 14% audience share in households and a 12% share in the 18-49 (source: NBC, Nielsen Media Research). During season 2006/2007, NBC averaged a 9% share in households and a 8% share in the 18-49.
