Parthenon plans more deals after Entara agreement

Parthenon Entertainment, the UK factual and kids producer/distributor, is looking to ink more acquisitions following a deal that puts it in charge of kids licensing outfit Entara.

Private equity investment firm Arkaga Fund has acquired control of Parthenon and will bring the company together with Entara, which it already owns, to create a “mini super-indie”.

Carl Hall, founder and managing director of Parthenon, will become CEO of the group. Hall told TBIvision.com that the two companies will remain separate, but will combine expertise.

“It’s the start of its own media group. We’re looking ahead at other opportunities, adding to it as time goes on. It’s not going to stop here,” he said.

Entara chairman David Cardwell will become chairman of Parthenon Entertainment, while Entara executive VP Regis Brown will join as president of Parthenon Kids. Entara CEO Daniel Isman left the company earlier this month.
