Madden departs Fox with AMC role in sight
Fox entertainment president David Madden is stepping down, with reports claiming that he may be heading to AMC.
US new stories suggest that he is in negotiations to replace AMC’s former president of original programming, Joel Stillerman, who left in May for a role at Hulu.
Michael Thorn, the 20th Century Fox executive VP of development, will succeed Madden and report to Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden.
Madden (pictured), meanwhile, is set to oversee programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios.
Meanwhile, Thorn will oversee scripted programming, development and casting at the Fox network. A replacement for Thorn is yet to be determined.
Madden is set to AMC as the network battles claims from The Walking Dead producers that there were breaches of contract and unfair or fraudulent acts during their work together.
