STV Productions names Dan Korn replacement
Scotland’s STV Productions has found a replacement for specialist factual exec Dan Korn, who left for A+E Networks UK last year.
Peter Collins (pictured) has taken up the post of head of specialist factual, more than a year after he joined the production arm of Scottish network STV.
News of Korn’s departure emerged last year, with the former Discovery Networks International exec moving to A+E to oversee programming for the Disney-backed company’s UK channels.
Since joining STV, Collins has won commissions from the BBC and Channel 4, including Tree of the Year for the latter.
“Peter has brought a wealth of creativity, skill and experience to the team since he joined last year and we look forward to continuing to secure commissions in this genre,” said STV Productions director of content Alan Clements.
STV’s specialist factual credits also include Tutankhamun: The Truth Uncovered for BBC One, Smithsonian Channel and Discovery Canada, Swallowed By The Sea – Ancient Egypt’s Greatest Lost City for BBC Two, and Life After: Chernobyl for Animal Planet in the US.
Other productions include BBC’s Antiques Road Trip, ITV’s Catchprase, ITV2’s Safeword, Channel 5’s Tour de Celeb and W’s fly-on-the-wall series The Dressing Room.
The company also has a co-development and distribution deal with Red Arrow International, and a strategic partnership with content investor and producer GroupM Entertainment.
