MIPCOM confirms US Media Masterminds

Reed Midem has confirmed execs from Disney, Participant Media and STX Entertainment as keynote speakers at this year’s MIPCOM.

Disney’s Ben Sherwood (above left), co-chair, Disney Media Networks, and president, Disney-ABC Television Group, will represent the Mouse House.

Sherwood replaced Anne Sweeney, when the long-serving exec left Disney in 2014.

From US producer and cable channel operator Participant, David Linde will speak. He joined the US firm, which runs the Pivot channel, late last year, replacing Jim Berk.

Sophie Watts completes the US exec trio giving keynotes under MIPCOM’s Media Mastermind umbrella. She is president of US-based producer STX. The fledgling firm is a film and scripted TV studio, and has also moved into reality and unscripted content.

Reed said the execs will address the MIPCOM 2016 theme of ‘the new television’.
