Sky picks Content horror drama

Scripted-logo-460_2SlasherUK digital terrestrial channel Pick has acquired US-Canadian horror drama Slasher from London-based distributor Content Television.

The eight-part show will make its UK debut on Tuesday, May 10 in a 10pm slot.

Canadian indie produced Slasher for compatriot Super Channel and US thematic network Chiller.

The anthology series follows a women who moves back to her home town, where her parents were murdered 1988, only for a new ‘executioner’ to begin killing residents for committing the seven deadly sins.

Pick, which is part of European satcaster Sky and was formerly known as Sky 2, has moved into US acquisitions in recent years through shows such as Siberia, Z-Nation and South of Hell.

“We are delighted that another exciting thriller will be making its UK premiere on Pick,” said director of Pick and Challenge Stephen Ladlow. “Our ‘Terrifying Tuesday’ line-up has really resonated with viewers and we are looking forward to Slasher being the channel’s new star.”

Content TV, which is part of Content Media Corp., debuted the show internationally at MIPCOM last October in Cannes.
