NBCU formats director exiting
NBCUniversal International Studios’ director of formats and production is leaving the company after four years, TBI has learned.
Jonathan Tuovinen is exiting his post at the Comcast-owned company’s London office.
His next move is unknown, but it is understood he will remain in London.
An NBCU spokesperson confirmed his departure today.
Tuovinen joined NBCU from Banijay International, where he was head of sales, at the start of 2012.
Working under NBCU formats chief Yvonne Pilkington, he has gone on to sell shows such as Top Chef and The Real Housewives to international networks.
NBCU rebranded its international content arm last year, with NBCU International Formats sitting within a larger group, NBCU International Studios.
Tuovinen’s departure comes after TBI sister title DTVE broke the news NBCUI was launching a reality-focused SVOD service, Hayu, in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
This has been described as “the first all-reality service of its kind”.
