Chernin hires Glee producer as TV chief

Peter Chernin (left) has recruited Glee producer Dante Di Loreto as president of TV at his media firm, Chernin Entertainment.

Di Loreto has a long list of US cable and network TV credits including Glee and its spin-off The Glee Project, NBS comedy The New Normal and FX series American Horror Story.

At Chernin he will serve as president, television, and report to Jenno Topping, the company’s head of film and television.

She said: “Dante has consistently delivered inspired television series that capture unique characters and stories. He’s a champion of courageous writers and vision.”

Di Loreto added: “Peter and Jenno are two of the most successful and highly regarded producers working today. Their clear vision and unique strategy make Chernin Entertainment the ideal destination for top tier talent and material in this rapidly evolving industry.”

Di Loreto has worked extensively with Ryan Murphy and joins Chernin from Watchworks, the prodco he set up last year after he and Murphy had finished on Glee.

Chernin is increasing its exposure to TV and recently inked a two-year overall deal with NBC Entertainment and Universal Television.
