19-2 adds up for Content
Content Television has acquired international distribution rights to the English-language remake of French-Canadian drama 19-2.
19-2 is a 10x60mins cop series about two newly-paired patrol officers working in the “highly-charged environment” on Montreal’s 19th precinct.
It was coproduced for Bell Media by Montreal’s Sphère Média Plus and Echo Media, and Content Television, the TV arm of Content Media Corp will now handle all rights (excluding Canada).
The show is scheduled for a primetime launch on Bell-owned commissioning broadcaster Bravo in Canada on January 29, with CTV giving it its conventional television debut a day later. The original French-Canadian version broadcast on Société Radio-Canada.
“19-2’s intelligent character-driven storylines offer truly immersive primetime content, which we are confident will engage viewers globally. Even prior to its debut, 19-2 presents a well established history of success, with CBC’s original French-language version receiving excellent reviews and consistently winning its timeslot in the [adult] 25-54 demographic,” said Greg Phillips, Content Television & Digital president.
