Cirkus secures multi-year ITVS deal

New SVOD service Cirkus has signed a multi-year deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

The deal gives Cirkus ITV titles such as Lewis, Appropriate Adult, Poirot and Prime Suspect and third party shows including Case Histories and Touching Evil.

Cirkus is set launch later in the year, focusing initially on the pay TV market, as revealed by TBI last month. It’s run by UK-based consultancy Content and Co. in conjunction with media law firm Wiggin and digital design agency Ostmodern and will first launch in the Nordic region.

Cirkus founder Mark Bradford added: “Incumbent pay TV platform operators everywhereare looking for strong new services to bundle into their top-tier pay TV packs to deliver more value to subscribers. In particular, they are looking to address the imbalance between their linear and on-demand offerings bringing them more in-line with increased viewer demand for on-demand access. Our deal with ITVSGE gives Cirkus on-going access to both the cream of its newest TV series, as well as its well known, iconic titles.”

In related news, ITVSGE has has renewed its distribution deal with UK prodco Ruby Film & Television, producer of Stephen Poliakoff’s major new BBC drama series Dancing on the Edge and will retain distribution rights over coming years.
