China’s Schindlers set for RTVE, ORF

china's schindlersBroadcasters in Europe have bought China’s Schindlers, a New Zealand-produced documentary about two Chinese men who provided safe haven for Jews and Chinese soldiers before and during World War II.

The ZDF Enterprises-distributed doc has been acquired by Histoire in France, RTVE in Spain, The History Channel Germany and ORF in Austria. In pay TV, it has been picked up by AMC Networks factual channel Spectrum for Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.

The one-hour project was made by NHNZ and China-based factual specialist CICC.

It tells the little-known story of Chinese diplomat Dr. Feng Shan Ho and China-based German businessman and John Rabe who saved Jews persecuted by the Nazis, and Chinese soldiers being pursued by the Japanese.
