Rive Gauche bringing drone reality series to MIPTV

Rive Gauche Television will launch Droned, a new ob-doc series about a family running a drone business, at MIPTV.

LA based producer and distributor Rive Gauche picked up the rights to the 10x30mins series from US indie Reckognition Productions. The show follows goings on at Pigeon Vision, a family-owned drone customisation and aerial filming company.

Rive gauche has also picked up a new format for the market next week, The Natural. There will be a sizzle reel of the paper format for interested buyers of the sports reality format.

The show pitches groups of athletes who win regional heats against one another across a series of different sporting challenges. Filling in the personal stories of the contestants along the way, the series will then crown the country’s greatest athlete.

Droned could not be timelier as we believe viewers know a little bit about drones but would love to see the inner workings of a drone company coupled with the interesting clientele and the spectacularly filmed locations,” said Rive Gauche boss Jon Kramer.

He added: “The Natural is an aspirational competition format that speaks to everyone’s dreams through the universal language of sport. Although Droned and The Natural are very different shows, they both speak to a global audience.”

Rive Gauche has also inked several pre-market deals. With crime shows still in high-demand, it has shopped Homicide Hunter, Fame KillsEvil Twins and Ice Cold Killers to Foxtel in Australia. AMC Chello has bought Death by Gossip and Fame Kills for Poland and Evil Twins and Sins & Secrets for the UK.

Outside of crime, Discovery has bought Where Cool Came From for Latin America and Blue Ant Canada and UKTV are among the buyers for True Supernatural.

Several channels have also picked up Rive Gauche’s popular series Dog Whisperer. Buyers include Discovery Latin America, RCS-RDS Romania, and renewals TV4 Sweden, which has renewed a deal for the Cesar Milan series.

“Rive Gauche’s high quality catalogue continues to satisfy various programming needs worldwide. Our client’s know they can come to us to fill out their programming schedules,” said Kramer.
