Canada’s Peacock Alley making market debut
The sales arm of Canadian indie Peacock Alley is heading to MIPCOM for the first time with a slate of fact-ent and lifestyle shows.
The MIPCOM slate is headed by 8x30mins observational documentary Brave New Girls, which follows Jenna Talackova, the Canadian model who successfully fought to be allowed to compete in Miss Universe having initially been precluded from the beauty competition having been born a man. Peacock Alley made the show for E! in Canada.
Another Peacock Alley-produced show launching at MIPCOM is 24x30mins Money Moron. Made for Canadian specialty channel Slice, the series follows couples in financial difficulty as they try to face up to their problems.
There is also a third party show, High Tech Rednecks. The 8x60mins doc follows the Critter Gitters Hunting Equipment Company, redneck mechanics who modify cars and other vehicles. It was made by Shark Teeth Films for Discovery Canada.
