BBC Studios (BBCS) has appointed the former chief commercial officer at ViacomCBS in the UK to oversee markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He also worked across plans for DTC products and before that was SVP of commercial & content distribution at the US company, leading business development and channel, product and content distribution in EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Tindall’s arrival completes BBCS’s leadership team in EMEA. Salim Mukaddam is SVP of content sales markets, responsible for France, Germany, Italy, Russia and Spain; Natasha Hussain is SVP of MENA responsible for Turkey, the Middle East, Israel, and North Africa region; and Cecilia Beacon is SVP of programming & marketing across EMEA.

Percy said: “This is a vital role for the EMEA business as we look to maximise value from our branded services and grow our major customer relationships in the region across all our lines of business. I have no doubt that Arran’s experience and insights into the EMEA market will enable us to unlock new business opportunities and achieve our growth ambitions.”

Tindall added: “It’s inspiring to be part of the distinctive, bold and British content of BBC Studios and I look forward to working with Nick and the whole team as we engage with our valued partners across EMEA to build successful futures together.”
