ChaiFlicks, the streaming service dedicated to Jewish content, has forged a content partnership with the Yiddish Book Center in the US.

The Massachusetts-based non-profit organisation is dedicated to Yiddish literature and culture and its partnership with ChaiFlicks will see the streamer begin to roll out documentaries from the Yiddish Book Center’s Wexler Oral History Project.

These will include films about Star Trek actor and director Leonard Nimoy, musicians Peter Sokolow and Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell, as well as Yiddish writers Avrom Sutzkever, Solomon Simon, Ida Maze, Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman and Alter Esselin.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Yiddish Book Center and continue their mission of disseminating and sharing the beauty of the rich Yiddish language and culture to as wide an audience as possible,” said ChaiFlicks co-founder Neil Friedman, who recently shared the service’s content demands with TBI.

“We know that our subscribers globally will enjoy and thoroughly appreciate the wide variety of Yiddish content that features the likes of Leonard Nimoy, Peter Sokolow and many others.”

ChaiFlicks, which recently picked up the North American rights to the German-Austrian TV series Kafka, is the world’s largest streaming platform dedicated to Jewish content, with more than 3,500 hours of films, television series, documentaries, and short films.
