AMC Networks ups Emily Gotto to become SVP of acquisitions & production at Shudder
AMC Networks has upped Emily Gotto to become its SVP of acquisitions and production for horror streamer Shudder.
Gotto, who was previously a VP, is based in the UK and will lead film acquisitions and production for Shudder’s original output, including its co-productions.
She continues to report to Scott Shooman, head of the AMC Networks’ Film Group, which oversees IFC Films, Acorn Media unit RLJ Entertainment and films for Shudder.
“Emily has been instrumental in elevating the Shudder brand within the genre community and bringing some of the most talented storytellers from this space to the service, as we continue to seek out and showcase titles that underscore the breadth of horror,” Shooman said.
“She has a filmmaker-first mentality and is always looking for what’s new and next to deliver something unexpected and something she knows will deeply resonate with Shudder’s passionate members. I’m excited to continue working alongside her in bringing the best of horror to Shudder.”
Gotto’s recent acquisitions and productions include Late Night With The Devil, Demian Rugna’s breakout film When Evil Lurks and Sébastien Vanicek’s Infested.
