A+E, SVT visit Caravan & PBS show ‘Field of Vampires’ following Abacus deals
A+E Networks has snagged rights in Europe to upcoming history documentary Field of Vampires, which is being produced for US network PBS.
The 1 x 60-minute / 2 x 50-minute show is from UK firm Caravan and travels throughout Eastern, Central and Western Europe and the US to understand how the myth of vampires began.
It includes an intense forensic investigation of ancient skeletons in mysterious graveyards, as well as providing DNA analysis and pioneering facial reconstruction techniques to answer questions around the subject.
A+E has struck a pre-sales deal for EMEA with distributor Abacus Media Rights (AMR), with the show set to become available via Sky History in the UK and The History Channel in Poland. SVT in Sweden has also taken rights to the show, which is set to debut in Autumn.
Field Of Vampires is produced and directed by Steven Perring. Executive producer is Dinah Lord.
