Nevision taps producer Tim Parfitt to lead Spanish office in European expansion
London-based producer and financier Nevision (Goode Stuff, The Missing Children) is opening a new office in Barcelona to be headed up by writer and producer Tim Parfitt.
Parfitt will work alongside Nevision’s founder, James Cabourne, with the new company set up to develop scripted series in Spanish for both the local and global markets.
The Spanish office already has three projects in development, two of which hail from writer and director Roger Gual (Smoking Room, 7 Años), including one in partnership with sister company Nevis Productions.
Parfitt joins Nevision following a career as a publisher, journalist and producer with international media experience based in Spain, including roles as CEO of Ediciones Condé Nast and director general of Prisma Publicaciones (Grupo Planeta). He is the author of The Barcelona Connection, also in development with Nevision for the screen.
Anni Faurbye Fernandez, founder and co-owner and CEO of Nevis Productions is also joining Nevision’s board with immediate effect.
The Barcelona-based firm expands Nevision’s roster of companies, following the launch of offices in Los Angeles and New York, as working alongside Nevis Productions with offices in Stockholm and Copenhagen.
“Having established ourselves in the UK and USA, as well as working in close collaboration with our sister company in Scandinavia, launching an office in a key territory in mainland Europe was the next logical step for Nevision,” said Cabourne.
“Spanish-language drama is respected and viewed worldwide and the opportunity to create our own series as well as remaking successful international dramas in Spanish is very exciting. We are also delighted to welcome Anni to the board to help navigate our continued expansion.”
