Czech TV veteran Jan Maxa to exit after more than a decade
Czech Television’s director of content & new media, Jan Maxa, is to leave the broadcaster after more than a decade.
Maxa took up his most recent role last year, having previously been in charge of development and formats prior to the arrival of new director Jan Souček.
He was replaced by Tereza Polachová and shifted to work across streaming projects, but is now set to leave the company on 30 June.
Maxa’s replacement is yet to be named, with Czech TV adding that a reorganisation of the management structure could occur.
A regular on the international circuit, Maxa initially worked for publisher Hachetter before joining post-production firm Avion. He then moved to CME and worked at networks including TV Nova and Markiza, before landing at Czech TV.
Maxa has recently been involved in projects such as ZDF coproduction We’re On It, Comrades!, highlighting the potential return of German-Czech coproductions that were popular 30 years ago.
