Aardman & Shazam alums join Denmark’s Mint for new London office
Danish kids and family prodco Mint is launching a London office and has hired Aardman Animations and Shazam Entertainment alums to run it.
Mint, which is behind DR miniseries Darkness Between Us (Mørket Mellem Os), has named Rob Doherty as a consultant and handed him the title SVP of business development.
Doherty has spent three decades in the TV industry working for Disney, ITV, Endemol and Cake Entertainment, in addition to Aardman, with credits on shows including Angry Birds: Summer Madness for Netflix.
His new remit includes expanding the slate of animated and live action IP, working with creative talent, studios, broadcast and co-production partners in the UK and across Europe.
Also based in the UK office is Shane Keane, Mint’s new head of growth for EMEA, who will be responsible for growing the digital agency business.
Keane was most recently head of business development for EMEA at SuperAwesome and before that was head of programmatic sales at Shazam.
Doherty and Keane will work with Copenhagen-based Philip Agerbech, Josephine Jerris Margolis and Rasmus Dige.
