UK-based kids firm Cake has picked up international rights to Cooking Buddies, the first TV show from son of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver.

The 10 x 20-minute show is presented by 13-year-old Buddy, who teaches a group of children how to cook a simple meal for someone or an important occasion in their lives.

Buddy’s guests then teach him a skill they are passionate about, ranging from basketball to street art, football or ice skating.

Cooking Buddies follows Buddy Oliver’s success on YouTube with his Cooking Buddies channel, which has amassed over 7 million views.

The show will premiere in the UK on CBBC later this year and has been commissioned by Sarah Muller, senior head of children’s commissioning for 7+. Executive producer for the Jamie Oliver Group is Samantha Beddoes, with Cake handling distribution rights worldwide excluding UK.
