MGM+ names Michael Katzer as head of international
Amazon-owned streamer MGM+ has appointed Michael Katzer to become its head of international.
Katzer is moving to London and will oversee all operations outside of the US, reporting into MGM+ Global’s general manager, Josh McIvor.
He will work with execs across Amazon’s streaming operations, including Prime Video, as well as MGM’s US-based team.
Kazter has been with MGM for almost six years and was most recently SVP of strategic planning & corporate development at the firm.
The move comes a year since the Epic streaming service was rebranded to MGM+, with shows including Godfather Of Harlem and Hotel Cocaine on the slate.
MGM+’s European service also carries shows from Lionsgate, including Black Sails and Mad Men.
In a note to staff, McIvor said: “Over the past year, Michael led our agreements and integration of Lionsgate+ into MGM+ in South America and Europe.
“Those deals have resulted in MGM+ becoming the second most subscribed Prime Video Channel outside the US.
“But we’re just getting started and Michael is the ideal leader to evolve MGM+ into a true premium channel across all our priority international regions.”
