ITV & PBS extend ‘Professor T’ as Beta Film strikes deals
ITV in the UK and PBS in the US have extended Professor T into a fourth season, with distributor Beta Film also revealing a raft of sales for shows including Estonia.
The six-hour fourth run, which is again being produced by UK prodco Eagle Eye, will launch in the US on PBS and will be available to stream on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and branded PBS platforms.
The show is produced in association with Happy Duck Films, with earlier seasons sold into more than 120 countries with buyers including France 3.
Most recently, Telekom acquired rights in Germany, TV3 bought the series for Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova 1 for Moldovia, and BBC and TVP for Poland. Seasons 1 and 2 were sold to Nova in Greece and Cyprus. Beta holds worldwide distribution rights on all seasons, while PBS Distribution holds the North American rights.
In related news, SBS in Australia has picked up a slew of dramas from Beta Film, including Fisher King’s Estonia and the third season of RTL’s Sisi. The third run of crime thriller Pagan Peak has also been acquired, as have Alpine-set mystery thriller Snow and NRK’S young adult drama Saving The Fucking Planet.
