Fox renews ‘Food Stars’

Fox in the US has renewed culinary series Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars for a second season.

Produced by Studio Ramsay Global, the titular chef serves as an executive producer, alongside Deborah Sargeant who is also showrunner.

Season two will see Ramsay will take the show global, recruiting a new group of food and beverage industry professionals and put them through a multitude of challenges designed to showcase their skills, as he searches for the next great culinary entrepreneur.

“I’m super happy that Food Stars is returning on Fox for season two,” said Ramsay. “America is full of incredible food and drink entrepreneurs and I can’t wait to see the talent and ingenuity that we discover.”

Nippon TV launches format trio

Japan’s Nippon TV is bringing three new titles to MIPTV next month, including two new scripted and one new unscripted format.

Trespassers (1 x 90-minutes) follows three women as they break into a luxury apartment looking for the off-the-books cash their company’s CEO is rumored to be hiding, only to encounter a series of unexpected events.

Alice In Wonderful Kitchen (10 x 60-minutes) is a mystery drama about an extraordinary cook that is on the spectrum with a story that seeks to bring healing to those who have struggles in life.

Meanwhile, scalable unscripted format Stars On The Shelf (60-120-minute episode length), is a business/observational reality format that taps into celebrities’ creativity, showcasing their prowess to shine in the competitive business arena.
