London TV Screenings deals round-up (PM)
Movistar Plus+, Canal+ find Murder Is Easy
Movistar Plus+ in Spain and Canal+ in France are among buyers of Mammoth Screen drama Murder Is Easy.
The Agatha Christie adaptation, sold by Fifth Season, has also been acquired by Network4 (Hungary), Canal+ Polska, TV2 (Denmark), TV2 (Norway), CANAL+ (France), Kanal 2 (Estonia), RUV (Iceland), TV4 (Sweden), Pickbox (Central and Eastern Europe) and MTV (Finland).
Fifth Season has also inked deals with BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand, CJ ENM (South Korea) and NHK Enterprises for Mystery Channel (Japan).
The show is produced with Agatha Christie Limited for BritBox International and the BBC, which debuted the series in December.
Fremantle preps Prime Video’s Costiera
Fremantle is selling rights to Prime Video Italy drama Costiero, which has named Jesse Williams as its lead actor.
Amazon has taken full exclusive rights to the show in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, but Fremantle will handle global sales in all other territories.
The show, from Adam Bernstein and co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Fremantle’s Lux Vide, is part of the scripted slate for the UK-based distributor at London TV Screenings this week.
The show is in production and tracks a half-Italian former US marine working at a luxurious hotel who must do whatever it takes to find his missing daughter and bring her home.
Greece joins The 1% Club
Star Channel in Greece has snagged rights to BBC Studios format The 1% Club.
The deal marksthe tenth remake for the format, which was created by Magnum Media.
The Star Channel show will be produced by Green Pixel Productions and is scheduled to air this autumn.
Last month it was announced that Mexico’s Azteca TV had secured the format, with further international commissions internationally in Australia, France, Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey and the US.
