Banijay strikes format deals for ‘The Fifty’ in Germany & ‘Location, Location, Location’ in NZ
Banijay has struck two format deals with The Fifty being adapted in Germany, while Location, Location, Location is heading to New Zealand.
EndemolShine Germany and Rainer Laux Productions will adapt reality competition format The 50 for Amazon streamer Prime Video. Originally created by Banijay Productions France, this marks the third iteration of the format, which will see 50 German reality stars compete in a wide variety of challenges set by the Game Master.
The twist this time is that the prize money is not for them, but for one of their fans, who will be selected at the end of the game.
Rainer Laux, MD at Rainer Laux Productions and executive director of EndemolShine Germany, said: “By placing the emphasis on the relationship between reality stars and their fans, The Fifty brings a new dimension of engagement and entertainment, which keeps viewers at the edge of their seats. We’re confident this third adaptation will be a fantastic addition to Germany’s entertainment landscape.”
Meanwhile, Screentime New Zealand is to adapt Banijay property format Location, Location, Location for TVNZ, in association with AA Insurance. This will be the first time that the show has aired in New Zealand and marks the seventh version of the format, which follows house-hunters in search of the perfect property.
Philly de Lacey, CEO of Screentime New Zealand, said: “The launch of this iconic format in New Zealand will ignite conversations around the property market as house-hunters seek out their perfect home, whether upsizing, downsizing, or first-time buying.”
