Poland’s TVN orders ‘Drag Me Out’ as Mastiff TV format extends roll-out
TVN in Poland has become the third broadcaster to order a local version of Drag Me Out, the entertainment format from Banijay’s Mastiff TV.
The show, to be known locally as Czas Na Show, features six celebrities who undergo a transformative experience to discover their inner queens while impressing a jury in challenges that culminate in a lip sync battle.
The format is being produced by Endemol Shine Poland, which recently moved under the Banijay Germany umbrella, and will air in an evening primetime slot in the spring.
Lidia Kazen, director of TVN, said: “We want to bring the drag queen phenomenon closer to our viewers and consolidate TVN’s position as a progressive station. Behind each costume, there is a moving story, and Drag Me Out forms a key part of our spring schedule.”
Małgorzata Perkowska-Czaja, who replaced Ryszard Sibilski as MD of Endemol Shine Poland late last year, described the format as offering “emotional stories” and “amazing metamorphoses”.
Sibilski, whose exit was revealed by TBI, recently joined Polish prodco Jake Vision along with Endemol Shine Poland’s former sales chief Julia Oginska.
