Banijay names Endemol Shine Poland MD & rejigs structure under German chief Fabian Tobias

Banijay has re-hired Małgorzata Perkowska-Czaja to become MD of Endemol Shine Poland, replacing the departing Ryszard Sibilski.

Perkowska-Czaja joins from Polish prodco Rochstar, where she had spent a year as MD and which she joined following a seven-year spell at Endemol Shine Poland, leaving as director of non-scripted sales.

During that time she oversaw the company’s slate of formats including TVN duo MasterChef and Big Brother, Polsat’s All Together Now and Fort Boyard for Viaplay.

Banijay is also rejigging its structure in Poland, with the label now falling under the Banijay Germany group umbrella, with the role reporting to Endemol Shine Germany’s MD, Fabian Tobias.

Perkowska-Czaja’s appointment comes just days after TBI revealed that Sibilski would be stepping down as MD of the Banijay-owned firm after almost two decades.

Marco Bassetti, Banijay CEO, said Perkowska-Czaja’s “breadth of experience spanning production and commercial strategy” would allow the company “to fulfil our ambitions in the Polish market…”

Perkowska-Czaja added: “While the market is challenging right now, I have no doubt that via innovation and creativity, we can capitalise on new technologies and avenues for growth, cementing the company as the region’s number one and go-to for clients.”

In addition to her most recent roles, Perkowska-Czaja served for seven years as head of development & sales for Golden Media/Mastiff Media Poland, having spent between 2004 and 2008 as production manager at Endemol Poland/Endemol Netherland, whihc marked her first stint at the company.
