UK’s Mitre Studios names BBC Studios, Spun Gold alum as development chief
UK-based prodco Mitre Studios has hired former BBC Studios and Spun Gold exec Holly Davies as its head of development for TV.
Davies will lead all development and will focus on entertainment, fact ent and reality genres for both linear channels and streaming services in the UK and globally.
Prior to joining Mitre, Davies led development teams and held senior positions at a range of companies including Workerbee, Spun Gold, BBC Studios, Viacom, Naked and Boundless.
Mitre MD, Ed Sleeman, said: “[Davies] brings with her a brilliant development mind, a strong track record in creating innovative ideas and crucially the ability to take an idea from concept stage all the way through to green light. We can’t wait for her to get started.”
Mitre Studios was launched by UK presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. Earlier this year it hired former CPL Productions exec Jack Shillaker as its creative director of television.
The prodco’s credits include DNA Journey, Limitless Win, In For A Penny, I’m A Celebrity South Africa and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
