BBC Studios has hired former Paramount/ViacomCBS exec Bartosz Witak as General Manager for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.

Witak will manage P&L across the region for the UK broadcaster’s commercial arm, while expanding BBCS’s branded services, content sales and digital efforts across CEE.

His remit also includes developing strategic partnerships, in a move that “aligns with BBC Studios’ vision for expansion and diversification”, the organisation said.

Bartosz spent 16 years at ViacomCBS, latterly as SVP & MD for Central, Eastern and Southern Europe and Israel, before moving to become an advisor four years ago.

He will be based in Warsaw and reports into Arran Tindall, BBCS’s chief commercial officer & EVP for EMEA key markets.

Tindall also previously worked at ViacomCBS as chief commercial offer for the UK operation, joining BBCS in 2021 to oversee markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He reports into Nick Percy, who oversees the combined APAC and EMEA regions for BBCS.

Bartosz said: “BBC Studios has an exceptional reputation and its commitment to producing and delivering high-quality content that resonates with audiences worldwide.

“I am excited about the prospect of joining an exceptional team, pooling our collective strengths to not only build upon the existing foundation but also to propel our global presence to new heights.”

Tindall added: “Bartosz is a seasoned media business executive with a track record reflecting his commitment to fostering strong strategic partnerships and driving business success in international markets.”
