New Regency recruits Netflix’s Laura Delahaye as head of domestic TV
New Regency Pictures, the producer of recently launched Prime Video series Mr & Mrs Smith, has hired Laura Delahaye, Netflix’s director of overall deals for the US & Canada, as head of domestic television.
In her new role, Delahaye will oversee the company’s slate of TV projects, which also includes the upcoming Man On Fire for Netflix. She will report to chairman and CEO Yariv Milchan, as well as Natalie Lehmann, who was promoted to president of television and motion pictures in December.
“Adding Laura’s expertise to our team is an instrumental step as we continue to grow our footprint in the television space. Her keen eye for identifying great stories and cultivating relationships with talent will only fortify our growing slate of television, and Natalie and I are thrilled to have her on board,” said Milchan.
At Netflix, Delahaye developed and launched shows including The Fall Of The House Of Usher, The Queen’s Gambit and the third and fourth seasons of Ozark. She also managed overall deals with firms including Jason Bateman’s Aggregate and Brad Falchuk’s Teley-Vision.
Delahaye spent more than seven years at the streamer, starting out as manager of global originals, working on titles including Marvel shows Luke Cage and The Punisher, as well as The Haunting Of Hill House, Sense8 and Bloodline.
“New Regency is one the most exciting companies in television today, with both a rich legacy and strong momentum thanks to its recent successes and compelling slate of upcoming series,” said Delahaye. “I look forward to building upon the division’s strong recent growth and expanding a library that includes some of the best works of the last few decades.”
