AMC Networks reboots horror anthology ‘The Terror’ after five-year hiatus
AMC Networks is returning to its horror anthology series, The Terror, after a five-year hiatus.
The six-parter, called The Terror: Devil In Silver, is being written by Chris Cantwell (Halt And Catch Fire) and author Victor LaValle, who wrote the novel on which the season is based.
David Zucker (Scott Free), Alexandra Milchan (Emjag), Guymon Casady (Management 360) and Scott Lambert (Anjulia Productions) are attached to produce, with director Karyn Kusama (Yellowjackets) also on board as an executive producer. She will direct the first two episodes.
Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said the show “offers a perfect opportunity for a new installment of this popular and critically acclaimed anthology.”
The show will tell the story of a working class moving man who, through a combination of bad luck and a bad temper, finds himself wrongfully committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital.
There, he must contend with patients who work against him, doctors who harbor grim secrets, and perhaps even the very Devil himself.
Previous seasons of The Terror have focused on a British naval expedition stuck in the ice while searching for the Northwest Passage and events in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. The third run will launch 2025.
