Fremantle inks first-look & development deal with ‘Alice & Jack’ firm Me+You Productions
Fremantle has inked a first-look and development deal with Me+You Productions, the Alice & Jack indie founded by Richard Yee and Krishnendu Majumdar.
The three-year deal will see Fremantle become the primary home for all of Me+You’s television projects, with the UK producer working closely with Fremantle’s global drama division and distribution team.
Fremantle’s SVP of scripted content, Rebecca Dundon, and global drama’s head of creative, Hilary Martin, will be overseeing the venture and leading on creative and commercial direction for Fremantle.
The partnership with Me+You was introduced to Fremantle by Lorenzo De Maio at De Maio Entertainment, which will serve as a strategic advisor for Me+You and Fremantle.
The deal comes off the back Fremantle’s recent collaboration with Me+You on the drama Alice & Jack, which was produced in association with Groundswell Productions and De Maio Entertainment and will launch on Channel 4 in the UK and PBS Masterpiece in the US.
Me+You is also behind the anthology drama series I Am for Channel 4, the comedy drama Sick Of It and travel documentary An Idiot Abroad for Sky One and the feature film Close To You.
Christian Vesper, CEO, global drama, Fremantle, said: “We’re continually looking at ways to work with the best creative talent from around the world, and Krish and Richard absolutely fit the bill with the award-winning work they’ve been doing at Me+You.”
This latest first-look deal follows other recent agreements struck by Fremantle, inlcuding with Edward Berger and his label Nine Hours, Angelina Jolie, Johan Renck & Michael Parets’ recently launched label Sinestra, Patrick Daly’s Caledonia Productions and the Larraín brothers.
