US-based Big Media & Slovakia’s Nunez NFE form JV for JOJ World factual channel

New York-based factual production company and channel provider Big Media and Slovakian prodco Nunez NFE have formed a joint venture partnership around JOJ World.

The two companies will program and operate the pay-TV documentary channel for Slovakian media firm JOJ Group.

JOJ World, which launched last summer, is part of JOJ Group’s portfolio of 23 channels for the Slovak market, including JOJ Cinema, Valentin, 24, and TV JOJ. It carries original, locally-produced Slovak documentaries and international co-productions.

As part of the new joint venture agreement, 28 series from Big Media will be added to the channel, including Animal Special Forces, First In: CIA Vs Bin Laden and Top Secret UFO Projects: Declassified.

“This joint venture will see JOJ World become a channel like no other in this market. There is something for viewers of all ages, interests, and perspectives,” said Peter Núñez, producer and founder of Nunez NFE. “The goal of JOJ World is to fascinate, educate, and entertain viewers with content especially curated and produced for them and in their language. It’s world-class quality programming for a local audience.”

Founded in 2011 as Oreo TV, Nunez NFE is behind RTVS title The Earth Sings and reality show Wedding At First Sight for Markíza TV, as well as licensed TV programs such as The Price Is Right and Risk It All.
