Netflix acquires Nippon TV’s ‘Rebooting’ for APAC
Global streamer Netflix has acquired Nippon TV’s Japanese time travel drama Rebooting to stream in APAC countries, from today.
Netflix already carries the show in Japan, and will now launch it in Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries.
The 10 x 60-minute series originally aired on Japanese broadcaster Nippon TV from January to March 2023, and tells the story of a woman who gets the chance to redo her boring life.
After being hit by car, she dies and awakens in an empty white room where she is given the choice to either be reincarnated as an anteater or to take a second turn at her life as a human. Unfortunately, things do not go entirely to plan and when she dies a second time, it begins a series of multiple reboots of her life.
Rie Sawaoka, director of content, Netflix Japan, said: “It is our pleasure to bring the Japanese hit series Rebooting to our APAC-based audience. We are extremely proud of our ongoing collaboration with Nippon TV and be able to introduce the award-winning Japanese drama to the wider viewers outside of the country.”
