Josh Selig’s China Bridge Content hires Frenzy Entertainment founder Stephen Kam
China Bridge Content, the Beijing and New York-based content and consulting firm, has hired Frenzy Entertainment founder Stephen Kam as resident producer.
Based in Guangzhou, Kam will oversee all of the company’s activities in Southern China including in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau. He is currently working on a number of yet-to-be-announced development projects.
His company, Frenzy Entertainment, was formerly the exclusive licensing agent in China and Hong Kong for Marvel Entertainment and Sony Pictures Enterprises.
He is also the former VP and executive producer at Guangzhou BlueArc where he oversaw a slate of animated “licensing-first” properties including Chinese domestic hit shows Ultra Beast Force and Fruity Robo.
China Bridge Content was launched in 2021 by Josh Selig, the former CEO of US-based Little Airplane Productions with the aim of giving international companies a foothold in mainland China.
The venture is focused on building creative and business ties between China and the rest of the global media sector, as well as creating and producing its own original content across a range of demographics and genres with a focus on cooperation with China.
It offers services including financing, developing and executing co-production models, guidance on regulatory issues, IP protection, accounting, taxes and Chinese public relations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Stephen Kam to our growing team at China Bridge Content. He joins at a really exciting time as we continue to increase our client base in Southern China, reflecting the migration of much of the Chinese animation, licensing and toy industry to the region over the past decade,” said Selig.
