Max cancels ‘Our Flag Means Death’

Warner Bros. Discovery streamer Max has cancelled comedy series Our Flag Means Death after two seasons.

The show was created by David Jenkins, who confirmed the news on social media. “The bad news is clear. Our Flag won’t be returning for a third season,” he wrote.

“We’ve sailed the pleasure of the fine people at Max, and it brought them no joy to see this journey come to a premature end.

“Casey Bloys, Sarah Aubrey, Suzanna Makes, Billy Wee, and David Ruby have been incredible champions of this show. They allowed us to make something authentically weird and hearted, cheering us the entire way.”

Our Flag Means Death starred Rhys Darby and was exec produced Taika Waititi, whose FX comedy Reservation Dogs recently ended.

Waititi is also behind What We Do In The Shadows, which is set to end after its sixth season later this year, while new projects include Apple TV+’s reboot of Time Bandits starring Lisa Kudrow.
