Indonesian production house Falcon Pictures has struck a deal with All3Media International for three scripted formats that it will adapt for the territory.

Currently in development are local versions of Two Brothers Pictures’ thrillers Liar and Cheat, as well as mystery thriller The Cry from Synchronicity.

The partnership with Falcon Pictures, which is based in Jakarta, is All3Media International’s first scripted format deal in Indonesia.

The original versons of Liar and Cheat were both written by Harry and Jack Williams, with both shows originally produced for ITV in the UK.

Liar (6 x 60-minutes) tells the story of a night that changes the lives of Laura Nielson and Andrew Earlham forever. Laura is a smart and dedicated teacher, not long out of a relationship and unsure about getting back on the dating scene. Andrew is a renowned surgeon whose son is a pupil at Laura’s school. An initial attraction leads to a date, but neither fully realises the far-reaching consequences that their meeting will have on each other or their families.

Psychological thriller Cheat (4 x 60-minutes), meanwhile, follows the dangerous relationship between university professor Leah and her student Rose. When what begins as a seemingly open-and-shut case of academic deception spirals out of control, it triggers a devastating sequence of events that threatens to engulf them both.

The Cry (4 x 60-minutes), which was originally produced for BBC One in the UK, is based on Helen Fitzgerald’s best-selling book of the same name, and chronicles the collapse of a marriage in the aftermath of a tragedy and explores the myths and truths of motherhood.

Sabrina Duguet, EVP at All3Media International, said: “Falcon Pictures has an impressive track record in bringing some of the country’s biggest titles to screens. The ongoing demand for scripted formats such as Liar, which is now in 13 territories, shows that scripted formats continue to offer the cost-effective production and proven success that producers and broadcasters around the world are looking for.”
