The Boys

A Spanish-language spin-off from The Boys is reportedly in the works for Prime Video, with a Mexico City-based entry in the superhero franchise in early development.

Blue Beetle scribe Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer has been attached to write the initial script for the series, and to serve as executive producer, though few other details about the show have been revealed, save for its location.

Andor star Diego Luna and Cassandro’s Gael García Bernal are also set to executive produce and may appear in small roles in the series, according to Deadline which first reported the spin-off. A search is reportedly now underway to find a co-showrunner to join Dunnet-Alcocer and the series will be shot in a Latin American country.

This Mexico City-set show would be the third spin-off from The Boys, following adult animation The Boys Presents: Diabolical in 2022 and the live-action Gen V, which debuted on Prime Video in Septmeber and was renewed for a second season last month.

The Boys is based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and is a violent and satirical spin on the genre in which self-obsessed and self-promoting superheroes are sponsored by corporations.
