Ex-Sky Studios Deutschland execs Tobias Rosen & Julia Rappold join Construction Film
Former Sky Studios Deutschland execs Tobias Rosen and Julia Rappold have joined Veronica Ferres’ Munich-based Construction Film, following their exit from the German production division of Comcast-owned European pay-TV giant Sky earlier this year.
Rosen will take on a management position at Construction Film alongside CEO Ferres at the beginning of next year, while Rappold will serve as a producer at the firm, which is behind titles including The Unforgivable for Netflix and Shattered for Lionsgate.
Rosen and Rappold both exited Sky Studios Deutschland following the move by Sky Deutschland to cease making scripted shows earlier this year. The network had been home to original titles such as Das Boot, Babylon Berlin and Munich Games, which were commissioned by the Sky Studios Deutschland team, led by Rosen.
Both served just short stints at the company, with Rosen joining from Warner Bros. International TV Production in October 2022 and Rappold appointed as senior executive producer in May this year, shortly before the shuttering.
Ferres founded Construction Film in 2013, with recent titles including Abducted – 14 Days of Survival and Lifelong Erlemann for RTL+ and the sci-fi thriller Morning.
“I’m really looking forward to our collaboration. Tobias Rosen and Julia Rappold not only bring with them a top-class network of creatives and broadcaster partners, but also a lot of know-how in general,” said Ferres.
“I am convinced that their experience as successful producers: inside, as well as their work on the broadcaster side, will make a significant contribution to achieving our goals and setting new milestones together.”
