TrueVisions, PCCW Media & Beijing ATW Culture land Woodcut factual shows
TrueVisions in Thailand, PCCW Media in Hong Kong and Beijing ATW Culture in China have all struck deals for factual content from distributor Woodcut International.
TrueVisions has picked up season one of A Royal Guide To… for its channel True Explore Life. Produced by Woodcut Media, the 6 x 60-minute series looks at the numerous and somewhat little known protocols, etiquette and customs adhered to by the British royal family that also form the foundations of how to do absolutely everything as a royal.
Meanwhile PCCW Media has acquired the 1 x 60-minute (K)nox: The Rob Knox Story for its VOD service NOW TV. The documentary explores how 18-year-old actor Rob Knox was stabbed to death just days after filming his breakthrough role as Marcus Belby in the feature Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince. The film is directed by Aaron Truss, produced by The Rob Knox Foundation and Nick Kenton.
Beijing ATW Culture took the filmed theatrical performance of Wuthering Heights (1 x 155-minutes) for theatrical release and non-theatrical platforms. The production sees the return of Emma Rice’s adaptation which transforms Emily Brontë’s story into a uniquely theatrical experience Wuthering Heights is A National Theatre, Wise Children, Bristol Old Vic and York Theatre Royal co-production.
The deals were brokered by Woodcut International’s appointed sales agent for Asia, Pooja Nirmal Kant, who commented: “We are pleased to announce these sales in advance of ATF, especially as they are censorship friendly, which is always a challenge for international distributors selling content across the region.
“Last year the ATF market was bustling, and we look forward to the same next month, especially as it’s a superb market to reach niche channels and more localised buyers.”
