Mediatoon recruits Princess Sam’s Fréderic Gentet to head up sales
Paris based distributor Mediatoon has appointed Princess Sam Pictures exec Fréderic Gentet to the newly created role of head of sales.
Gentet takes on the position with immediate effect, gaining oversight of the company’s marketing and servicing divisions, with responsibility for sales of titles including SamSam: Cosmic Adventures, Garfield and Tintin.
He will be based in Paris and report directly to Caroline Duvochel, MD of Mediatoon and head of audiovisual and innovation at parent company Média-Participations.
Gentet most recently served as the head of sales for French animation studio Princess Sam Pictures, where he oversaw the global launch of the Tara Duncan series.
Prior to that, he managed the sales of films and animated series at production and distribution company Millimages, for titles including Molang, Moukand Pirata and Capitano.
Gentet’s “extensive commercial and marketing experience with major youth brands will be a valuable asset in developing international sales and strengthening the influence of our kids and family universe,” said Duvochel.
“The global children’s TV market is in constant evolution, and we need to keep re-inventing to maintain global relevance and appeal,” added Gentet.
