Netflix trims scripted team with trio of directors incl Carnival alum Alex Sapot departing
Netflix has trimmed its drama division according to US reports, with three directors among those departing.
The streamer’s director of originals, former Carnival exec Alex Sapot, is leaving after seven years and director of drama series Pete Corona is departing after more than five.
Sapot had worked on shows including Sex Education while Corona had been behind series such as Haunting Of Bly Manor.
Queen’s Gambit exec Laura Delahaye is also leaving her director of overall deals position, having been with Netflix for seven years.
Netflix has made few layoffs this year to date, following around 450 job cuts to its US and international teams in the summer of 2022. US trade Deadline broke the news.
